The Heart Song Concert is being held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Bell Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. All of the proceeds from this event, featuring internationally-known soul and funk singer Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings will help University Hospital screen our community for underlying heart conditions and disease. Heart disease is the number one killer and this event will help support screenings for student athletes, first responders (who are three times more likely to suffer heart attacks on the job) and our community. University Hospital has a nearly 200 year tradition of providing the kind of care that truly impacts and saves lives.
In 2012, University Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Institute staff began performing screenings on student athletes averaging 95-100 students at each event. The goal is to expand that program to ensure our youth are kept safe and healthy.
General Admission tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the box office or by going to www.georgialinatix.com. VIP tickets (tables for eight on the floor) are $1,000 and include a food and beverage package. VIP tickets and sponsorships can be purchased by calling the Foundation at 706-729-5659.
