Master Control Operator
WFXG Fox 54 in Augusta, Georgia, is currently recruiting for a full-time, hourly Master Control Operator to join our growing news operation. This position is part of WFXG’s Master Control & News Production crew and will serve in other broadcast support capacities as necessary. The work schedule will include nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays for 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring the quality and accuracy of our on-air signals and documenting discrepancies
- Ensuring the transmission meets government regulations and the station’s high standards
- Video editing and ingest for programming and commercial playout
- Troubleshooting equipment and technical malfunctions
- Assist technical directors as needed
- Checking mics, prompter, robotic cameras and other production equipment
- Digital video editing for news
- Create graphics for newscasts and post-production
Education: Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent. Completion of college level technical and editing classes a plus. Prefer experience with non-linear editing and Photoshop.
Other requirements:
- Good eyesight and hearing required
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must have good technical and communication skills
- Attention to detail
