AUGUSTA, GA (09/25/2024): Doctors Hospital of Augusta has proudly contributed $10,000 to Golden Harvest Food Bank in support of the "It’s Spooky to Be Hungry" annual campaign, one of the largest grassroots efforts to fight hunger across Georgia and South Carolina.
Taking place throughout October, "It's Spooky to Be Hungry" began as a neighborhood food donation drive and has grown into a powerful virtual campaign involving hundreds of businesses, schools, community groups, and churches. This initiative aims to fill plates and hearts by providing nutritious meals to families, seniors, and children in need. Every $2 raised provides five meals to those struggling with hunger, thanks to the immense buying power of the Golden Harvest Food Bank.
“At Doctors Hospital, we believe that healthy communities start with access to nutritious food,” said Joanna Conley, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer at Doctors Hospital. “Partnering with Golden Harvest Food Bank for ‘It's Spooky to Be Hungry’ allows us to make a tangible impact on reducing hunger in our region, and we are excited to be a part of this important initiative.”
